This is often due to the fact that special arrangements have to be made often for students that take classes online, and often the costs associated with online classes is divided up amongst a smaller pool of students, thus resulting in higher costs. This is something that you have to take into consideration as often the costs associated with online education can be twice as much as standard schooling.
 
The final thing to consider when considering the use of an Electronic High School is the development of the student. Many studies show that students who are surrounded by other students tend to develop social skills that are not present in home schooled students or those that take their classes online. Whether or not one can quantify the importance of this factor is based on a case by case basis. So again this has to be weighed in when deciding to enroll in a standard classroom education system or deciding to complete courses online.
